Study Overview
The GSK EXTEND 4M study is a clinical research study including adolescents 16 or 17 who have never been diagnosed with HIV but may benefit from HIV prevention. The study is exploring a new formulation of Cabotegrevir Long Acting (CAB LA) injected into the muscle in adolescent patients. The new formulation of CAB LA is called CAB ULA.
Study Highlights
1. Coverage of all study-related costs. There is no cost to participate.
2. A stipend is paid for each completed study visit.
3. The study will be approximately 33 months (approximately 2.5 years, 14 in clinic visits).
4. After a loading dose, the investigational study drug is taken by injection once every four months.
5. Participation is voluntary. Your information is kept confidential.

What Should I Expect?
Screening Visit
Before you can participate in the study, you will undergo a series of tests. This is called a screening. Based on the results of the screening assessments, the study doctor will decide if you qualify to enter this study.
Treatment Phase
If you meet the screening criteria, you will be enrolled in the study and receive CAB ULA administered intramuscularly (into the muscle) into the gluteus medias (hip muscle). You will receive these injections every four months for the duration of your participation in the study.
