Study Overview
The AstraZeneca “LaunchPAD-RA” study is testing a potential new, injectable drug (AZD1163) to see if it helps adults with rheumatoid arthritis who have not improved with their usual treatments.
Study Highlights

2. Participation in the study will last up to 1 year (approximately 52 weeks)
3. The investigational medication (AZD1163) will be given as an injection under the skin (subcutaneous (SC)) once weekly for the first 4 weeks, then every 2 weeks.

What Should I Expect?
Screening Visit
Before you begin the study drug, AZD1163, or placebo, you will complete screening – including consent, medical history, and testing to determine if the study is right for you.
Randomization Visit
Participants are randomly assigned (75/25) to receive either the investigational study medication/injection or a matching placebo with no active medicine.
Treatment Phase
Should you qualify, your participation may last up to ~24 weeks. You’ll take either Investigational study drug (AZD1163) or matching placebo alongside your regular rheumatoid arthritis medication. Participation is voluntary, and you can stop taking it at any time.
